Tuesday

Have a cold and it is cold out. I found a used stew pot at Salvation Army, plus a wool hat. Went to REI to avoid going later this week. I bought a neck gator and converted it into a ski hat. Even though the economy's gone to hell, Oakbrook will be a madhouse later this week.

Riley came home Saturday for the first time since leaving for college! Its great having him. He eats a lot and is trying to write papers due next week. Time is passing quickly.

I finished the Glacier Survey piece yesterday and went back to hand stitching the casualty graph today.

Rainy

Walked in the rain and ice. Took off Yaktrax and walked in the street. Ate too many of my homemade biscotti for bfkst. Working on prayer flags.

Packing

...for China. Packed a lot and worked on my web page/CD again. Talked to Shannon, she feels better. Saw Barb which was fun fun fun.

chilly today

Low 70's. Overcast. Trying to reach Barb playing phone tag. Both her daughters are engaged. Trying to plan Tibet trip.

Blustery Day

Cooler today. In Houghton. Have been mountain biking and sailing (with a race!) a lot. The forest has been humid but today its cool and very windy. Have to go bike riding again soon. White caps on the lake.

Wednesday

Today's routine. Walked 6 miles, showered, read a little of Monday's NYT, had coffee. Now I'm trying to organize the entry forms for the Yosemite Renaissance exhibit and other upcoming exhibit entry forms. There is distracting email from my x husband who would love to shame and blame till it eats him alive. I need to stay focused!

Tuesday

I am in Houghton again. We just walked about 5 miles at Tech Trails in cooler weather. It rained last night thankgod. Saw a couple of kids on an ATV and motorbike- YUCK! We have been walking 5-10 mi/day and it feels great!

Talked to Riley last night. He is working for Bob on his apartments, painting. He sounds like he is growing up.

Smoked fish on crackers.
